Dolomites and the Italian Lakes Bike Tour

Upon arrival, settle into your hotel and enjoy some free time at leisure to discover the city at your own pace. Explore the magnificent Duomo and its rooftop terraces, wander through the elegant Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, or relax over an aperitivo in the lively Brera district.

After a private transfer to Como, we’ll begin our ride along the shores of the magnificent Lake Como, surrounded by elegant lakeside villages, lush mountains, and spectacular Alpine scenery. The route takes us towards the charming town of Bellagio, known for its picturesque streets and beautiful setting at the meeting point of the lake’s three branches.

From Bellagio, the cycling challenge begins as we climb towards the legendary Sanctuary of the Madonna del Ghisallo, a must-visit destination for cycling enthusiasts and a celebrated landmark in Italian cycling history. At the summit, take time to admire the sanctuary and enjoy the panoramic views across the lake and surrounding mountains.

After the ride, we’ll travel by van to our hotel in Bormio, a charming mountain town in the heart of the Italian Alps.

Leaving Bormio, we’ll warm up our legs on the quiet mountain roads towards Santa Caterina Valfurva, before the road begins to climb steadily into the rugged landscape of the Stelvio National Park. The ascent to Passo Gavia is a true cycling classic, with dramatic peaks, alpine meadows and a succession of sweeping bends accompanying you towards the summit at 2,621 metres. At the top, we’ll take a well-earned break to admire the extraordinary views and celebrate conquering one of Italy’s most iconic cycling climbs.

From Bormio, we’ll begin the ascent of Passo dello Stelvio, climbing through a dramatic landscape of rugged peaks and alpine meadows. The road winds its way towards the summit at 2,758 metres, with around 40 hairpin bends on the Bormio side and increasingly spectacular views as you gain altitude. The Stelvio is one of the great challenges of European cycling and has featured as the Cima Coppi (the highest point of the Giro d’Italia) on numerous occasions.

After reaching the summit, we’ll enjoy a well-earned break before descending into South Tyrol, where the scenery gradually changes from high Alpine terrain to the greener valleys around Bolzano.

From Bolzano, we’ll continue by private transfer into Alta Badia, arriving at our boutique hotel in the heart of the Dolomites.

Setting out into the heart of the Dolomites, we’ll climb Passo Campolongo, Passo Gardena, Passo Sella and Passo Pordoi, each offering its own dramatic perspective of the towering limestone peaks. The route is a perfect combination of challenging climbs, exhilarating descents and unforgettable scenery, with legendary mountains such as the Sella Group, Sassolungo and Marmolada providing a spectacular backdrop throughout the day.

After a short transfer in our van, we’ll set off on a beautiful downhill route through South Tyrol and the Trentino valleys, following quiet roads as the high mountains gradually give way to vineyards, orchards and picturesque villages. The route continues towards the northern shores of Lake Garda, where the scenery becomes increasingly Mediterranean, with olive groves, cypress trees and the sparkling waters of Italy’s largest lake accompanying you towards the south.

After checking into our hotel, we can enjoy some free time to relax by the pool, or perhaps head down to the lakefront to enjoy the wonderfully relaxed atmosphere of Garda.

Leaving Desenzano del Garda, we’ll follow scenic roads along the southern shores of the lake, passing elegant waterfront towns, olive groves and vineyards with the mountains rising dramatically beyond the water.

After the ride, we’ll head back to Milan in our van.
