Our Valencia bike tour takes you into the heart of the authentic rural Spain, through charming mountain villages untouched by mass tourism. Enjoy fantastic cycling along the Ojos Negros vía verde, Spain’s longest traffic-free cycle path.

This bike tour begins in Valencia, Spain’s third largest city: the home of beautiful beaches, the original and authentic paella, and Las Fallas, a world-famous festival with amazing fireworks. Valencia is the most bike-friendly city in Spain, and the plentiful bike paths and green parks make it a great city to explore on two wheels.

Outside the city, you’ll discover the Valencia’s huerta (orchard): the sea of orange trees that flourish thanks to the fertile soil and the pleasant Mediterranean climate. There’s nothing like cycling through the foothills of the  Serra Calderona mountain range, with the scent of orange blossoms all around you. This tour offers the chance to escape into the calmness of nature, enjoy both mountain and coast, and get to know the real Spain.

This Valencia bike tour is an easy option for regular cyclists, that combines quiet secondary roads with the well-kept bike paths of the Ojos Negros vía verde, Spain’s longest greenway. Stages are an average of 40km, over flat terrain without large climbs.
  • Explore the city of Valencia and see its transformation towards design and style.
  • Enjoy the pleasant Mediterranean climate, with over 300 days of sunshine a year.
  • Relaxed cycling over moderate mountain terrain, through endless almond, olive, and orange trees.
  • Fabulous local gastronomy – don’t miss the chance to try the original paella valenciana!
  • Fantastic cycling along the longest traffic-free cycle path in Spain.

Gastronomy

Valencian gastronomy celebrates its fertile “huerta”, bringing together local produce such as oranges, rice, chufa (tiger nuts), and olives in iconic dishes like authentic Valencian paella, arròs a banda, fideuà, and the beloved horchata with fartons. Inland in Castellón, hearty comfort foods such as olla de la Plana, caragols en salsa, ximo de Castellón, and traditional cocas and pastissets showcase the region’s rustic flavours.

Wines

Valencian wines reflect a sunny Mediterranean terroir, with standout native grapes such as Bobal, Monastrell, and Moscatel producing fresh rosés, expressive reds, and aromatic whites. From the coastal vineyards of Valencia to the inland bodegas of Castellón, you’ll find everything from traditional family-run wineries to innovative projects crafting modern, characterful wines.

Guest Reviews

★★★★★

The Valencia tour was excellent and a repeat of the previous positive factors. The weather was cooperative during our tour. The hotels were fine, the staff friendly and helpful. The upgraded room at the SH Engles hotel room in Valencia was excellent as was its location. Overall it was an excellent experience and we look forward to more of the same. Best moments: For Bill, it was eating lunch at the Madrigal Cafe in Valencia, tapas at various bars, meeting fun people who knew as little English as I knew Spanish, and generally feeling safe in a foreign country. For Janny, it was cycling by the sea, quiet backroads, riding on dedicated bike trails both in and outside of Valencia, and the architecture in Valencia.
