Covering over 500km of the Camino de Santiago, our guided bike tour from Burgos is the perfect choice for pilgrims wishing to discover the true diversity of Spain!

Your adventure begins in the medieval splendour of Burgos and unfolds across an extraordinary tapestry of landscapes. You’ll pedal through the historic heart of Castilla y León, crossing the legendary meseta, where wide horizons, holm oak forests and endless wheat fields evoke the timeless spirit of the Camino. As the terrain softens and the air grows cooler, you will enter the emerald mountains of Galicia, a land of ancient stone villages, Celtic heritage and a coastline famed for its exceptional seafood, especially pulpo (octopus). Along the way, you’ll explore storied cities such as León, Astorga and Ponferrada, before celebrating your arrival in the sacred city of Santiago de Compostela.

Designed as a truly elevated Camino experience, this itinerary combines the pleasure of cycling with curated support and seamless logistics. Accompanied by our expert Bike Spain Tours guide and supported by premium van transfers, you will ride the most scenic and meaningful sections of the pilgrimage route and enjoy privileged access to cultural highlights en route. Evenings offer a welcome touch of indulgence, as you unwind in carefully restored historic buildings converted into boutique and luxury hotels, each full of character and heritage.
  • Begin your journey in Burgos, the former capital of Castile and birthplace of national Spanish hero El Cid.
  • Be awe-struck by Burgos’s 13th century Gothic Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Stay in historic buildings carefully renovated into luxury hotels, including a 12th century Renaissance Benedictine monastery and a 15th century pilgrim hospital.
  • Experience the diversity of Spain’s landscapes: the desert-like meseta, the holm-oak forests and wheat fields of Castile-Leon and the rolling green hills of Galicia.
  • Sample the delicious gastronomy and wine of Castile-Leon and Galicia.
  • Celebrate your achievement in front of Santiago Cathedral, as your fellow pilgrims have been doing for over a thousand years.

Gastronomy

The gastronomy of the Camino de Santaigo from Burgos offers a delicious journey through Spain’s regional culinary traditions, beginning with the hearty flavours of Castilla y León, where specialties such as morcilla de Burgos, roast meats and artisan cheeses reflect the region’s rural heritage. As you approach Galicia, the cuisine becomes fresher and Atlantic-inspired, with highlights including pulpo a la gallega, seafood rice and empanadas, rooted in the abundance of the sea and the lush green landscape.

Wines

Beginning in Castilla y León, you’ll encounter structured reds and expressive whites, including Ribera del Duero, Arlanza and the elegant Mencía and Godello wines of El Bierzo, before reaching Galicia, where the focus turns to the crisp, aromatic whites of Albariño, Ribeiro and Ribeira Sacra, perfectly reflecting the region’s Atlantic freshness.

★★★★★

Excellent—from the planning stage with Laura to the wonderful interaction with our beloved guides, Kike and Juanfe. A solid 10 out of 10. The price to quality ratio is truly outstanding. Everything was magnificent, but the most important part was our amazing guides, Kike and Juanfe; without them, our trip would not have been as unforgettable as it was. A moment that I will always remember is the descent from the mountain at the Cruz de Ferro…

★★★★★

First factor was how highly rated Bike Spain has been with previous customers. Second factor was the availability for bike routes in the country we wanted to explore. Third factor was the quality of the bikes, and the experience with the desired routes.
