A fantastic guided bike and wine tour though the idyllic wine-making regions of La Rioja and Ribera del Duero in northern Spain.

Experience a sublime cycling journey through rolling hills and medieval hilltop towns whilst sampling the best food and wines that Spain’s top wine regions have to offer. This beautiful tour presents a unique opportunity for you to experience a tranquil and traditional side of Spain that most visitors will never see.

Our bike and wine tour begins in La Rioja, one of Spain’s most famous wine-making regions, La Rioja. We’ll cycle through the dramatic valley of the Ebro river, surrounded by rolling hills and  sweeping vineyards. We’ll enjoy stays at the region’s best hotels, and sample the best La Rioja wines combined with exquisite, gourmet food.

Moving south into the Duero valley, we’ll visit some of Spain’s most picturesque medieval towns whilst savouring the more dramatic reds of the Ribera del Duero. The climb to the stunning walled town of Pedraza is one you won’t forget in a hurry! We’ll finish with a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Segovia, before celebrating our final night with a traditional flamenco show.
  • Marvel at the dramatic scenery of the Rioja Alavesa
  • Stay in historic buildings carefully renovated into luxury hotels, including one of the best-preserved 12th century Cistercian monasteries in Europe.
  • Discover the endless vineyards and historic wine towns of La Rioja and the castles and windmills of medieval Castile.
  • Enjoy some of Spain’s very best food and wine at beautiful boutique wineries
  • Admire the UNESCO World Heritage city of Segovia.
  • Clap along to a final-night flamenco show in Spain’s charismatic capital

Gastronomy

La Rioja and Ribera del Duero share a hearty, tradition-driven cuisine rooted in high-quality local produce, where rustic dishes such as cordero asado (roast lamb), chorizo a la riojana, and slow-cooked stews reflect the region’s rural heritage. Both areas celebrate seasonal ingredients and artisanal products—think piquillo peppers, morcilla, cured meats, and farmhouse cheeses—offering comforting, flavour-rich cooking that perfectly complements the local way of life.

Wines

La Rioja and Ribera del Duero are two of Spain’s most prestigious wine regions, celebrated for their expressive Tempranillo-based wines that balance depth, elegance, and ageing potential. From Rioja’s silky, oak-matured classics to Ribera del Duero’s powerful, structured reds, both regions showcase centuries of winemaking expertise and a distinct sense of place.

Guest Reviews

★★★★★

Everything was really great. The accommodations were fantastic and the food and drink was too. Enrique and Sergio were really great and offered a lot of information and insight into the places we went. The package had the best distance per day cycling with wine and food. A lot of other companies ride much too far. The festival was really a great add on. I'm glad the timing worked out and it's a shame no everyone gets to take that in. The monastery in Penafiel was amazing.
